Students and volunteers
Investing in the next generation of Early Childhood Educators is crucial to our success—and yours!
As such, we welcome early childhood practicum students into our settings, along with UBC Work Learn students.
Practicum students
We value the ways that practicum students from programs across the Lower Mainland enrich our child care settings and the experiences of the children in our care. Our goal is to provide practicum students with an environment that successfully supports their learning and growth as educators.
Notably, once our practicum students complete their certification, many join the UBC Child Care team and continue to enrich our settings as colleagues.
How to co-ordinate a practicum placement
Practicum students: if you are a student interested in a placement with us, please speak to your program administrator or a professor to request a placement. If your program does not have a direct relationship with us yet, feel free to email us to discuss opportunities.
Program administrators or professors: If you are a program administrator or professor who would like to explore practicum student placements with us, please email us to discuss opportunities.
Our current program relationships
In addition to strong relationships with the UBC Early Childhood Education program, we have built excellent relationships with several others, including Capilano University, Langara College and Vancouver Community College.
UBC Work Learn students
From time to time, we also welcome applications for UBC students to apply for UBC Work Learn positions with us.

Volunteers
We also welcome requests to volunteer in our settings—whether from high school students completing work experience requirements or others interested in joining our profession.
